The trial for the death of Diego Maradona has been postponed until 2025

 


Diego Maradona died in November 2020 at the age of 60 from cardiac arrest after undergoing brain surgery a few days earlier.



The trial of 8 health workers accused of "manslaughter" in the death of Diego Maradona has been postponed until sometime in March 2024, Argentina's Mesa reported.

A court in San Isidro, a city on the outskirts of Buenos Aires, accepted the request of three of the 8 defendants to postpone the trial until a later date. The trial was originally set for June 4 and was moved to October 1. The process will finally begin on March 11 according to La Nación newspaper.

Among those charged in his death are the neurosurgeon, psychologist, physiatrist and nurses who, if convicted, could face 8 to 25 years in prison.
