Wild incidents broke out at noon on Friday in the breakaway region of Abkhazia in the Caucasus.
Demonstrators stormed Abkhazia's parliament and demanded the resignation of their president.
Unopposed, the angry mob broke windows and uprooted the railings of the Abkhaz parliament building in an attempt to break in.
Protesters have demanded the breakaway republic's leader step down, canceling an economic deal with Russia.
Amid unrest, the authorities, in an attempt to resolve the situation, have already withdrawn the bill to ratify the investment agreement with Russia.
Several of the protesters have stormed inside the Parliament building. At least 9 are injured while it remains unknown if any protesters have been arrested.
Before the raid on Abkhazia's "capitol" began, representatives of the local opposition said the media were calling what was happening "anti-Russian rallies."
According to one of the protest leaders, the country's existence and future are directly linked to Russia, denying any involvement of a "foreign power" in their protests.
